Global Category Manager Electronics 

We are looking for experienced Global Category Manager specialized in Electronics to to join three Category Managers in  Global Procurement Team based in Head Office in the Netherlands. 

Category Manager plays a crucial role in maximizing supplier performance and global leverage to positively impact the financial performance of Hyva business. This position is responsible for creating a comprehensive sourcing environment for Hyva Group companies to purchase materials or services within the best possible conditions regarding Quality, Logistics, Costs and Technology (QLTC). This includes defining the global supply base for electronics components, developing and managing commodities and ensuring supply chain philosophy is up to date based on the mega trends in the industry and marketplace.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Category Management

  • Define category strategy and implementation plan, within the guidelines of the Hyva Group sourcing strategy and company goals and working with local commodity buyers.
  • Analyze and position purchased goods and suppliers regarding market developments (outside and customer related) and financial impact;
  • Supply market research regarding technical capabilities and developments, supply stability/contingency, low cost sourcing possibilities, etc.;
  • Project manager development of category sourcing strategy and/or sub categories.
  • Create alignment and full commitment with stakeholders on all levels within the company for category strategy.
  • Develop strategy and implementation plans in close cooperation with local commodity buyers;
  • Manage the implementation of the Hyva category strategy.
  • Steer category sourcing team on progress and results.
  • Create 2-3 yearly cycle on the further development of and improvement on category strategy.
  • Align and adjust category strategy with internal and external developments on the supply and demand market
  • Align and adjust category strategy according to customer developments/needs

Supplier Account Management

  • Manage the major supplier accounts (high turnover, inter-regional) within electronics category
  • Manage supplier relations through periodic meetings and management reviews, visit documentation and site meetings
  • Provide supplier performance management, focusing on continuous improvement and meeting targets for quality, logistics and cost
  • Manage contracting, including NDA, MBA and exhibits;
  • Ensure supplier and product compliance
  • Negotiate to meet company targets
  • Support escalations towards suppliers on request of the local commodity buyer
  • Support escalations on continuous supplier QLTC underperformance

Approved Vendor List (AVL) Management

  • Accountable for AVL management within electronics category 
  • Set and manage supplier performance targets for category supplies in close cooperation with sourcing team members
  • Manage continuous improvement programs with suppliers in the category
  • Support escalations on continuous supplier QLTC underperformance
  • Manage supplier selection processes within the category
  • Continuously review AVL with respect to customer needs, market developments, etc, and adopt AVL towards continuous fit.

Professional qualification and experience:

  • Bachelor degree in business or engineering field is required. An advanced business degree is preferred.
  • 10 plus years purchasing experience, preferably in related industries and markets.
  • 5 years in a sourcing role - preferably in a global setting.
  • Proven experience as category manager or similar role.
  • Purchasing (CPM, CPI, APICS, etc.) and project management certifications are preferred.
  • Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods.
  • Experience in matrixed procurement organization - including global team environments.
  • Provides leadership for complex negotiations to the negotiation teams.
  • Demonstrated experiences in Supplier Development program development and execution of programs in a commodity setting.
  • Experience in working with global virtual teams/cross-functional teams.
  • Working experience in a engineering/manufacturing environment is beneficial, but not mandatory.
