About The Role

As a Global Manufacturing Technology Engineer in our brand new Regional Hub / Shared Services Centre (SSC) in Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur, you will have the opportunity to play a role in acting as the Global Network Lead (GNL) for Supply Chain. You develop advanced manufacturing technology (with a strong focus on process definition and digitalization) both for hydraulics cylinders as well as new products in cooperation with R&D, lead implementation of key projects in the regions on their request. You initiate global workshops, sharing best practices, promoting advanced manufacturing technologies, as well as aiming to improve process knowledge. You create global team with experts from each region to develop machine specification standards as well as preferred machines & vendor lists on a global level. Global network provides support knowledge and is participating in the approval of machine purchases.

Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Lead Manufacturing Digital Transformation vision, planning, and support to project(s) execution. This includes transitioning manufacturing to a paperless factory with real time data capture and advanced utilization of data to assist with decision making
• Develop advanced manufacturing technology, including process digitalization in cooperation with R&D and Regions
• Lead implementation of key projects in the regions, and on request of the regions
• Initiate global workshops sharing best practices, promoting advanced manufacturing technologies, as well as aiming to improve process knowledge
• Create global team with experts from each region to develop machine specification standards as well as preferred machines & vendor lists on a global level
• Provides support knowledge and is participating in the approval of machine purchases Management, investigation, and reporting on manufacturing process technology related tasks
• Work with the Quality organization to develop plan on how best to integrate quality into our digital systems
• Defines/Optimizes PDCA Manufacturing processes, ensure training & support to plants for their execution
• Communicate the vision within manufacturing leadership members to ensure all are properly aware of vision, status, and needs
• Lead coordination of efforts for advanced manufacturing Smart Factory technologies such as Machine Monitoring, Advanced reporting, and industrial Internet of Things (iIOT) technologies
• Work to ensure the overall business benefits will result in improvements in overall plant efficiencies, quality, and ability to align with future contract requirements
• Evaluate near-term and long-term costs and work with IT, finance, and manufacturing site to align cost adjustments to our systems and business models
• Ensure funding is aligned with strategy and efforts are coordinated to ensure schedules align. Ensure plant vision is aligned with future needs and ability to leverage technology
• Contribute to strategic discussions regarding existing and future manufacturing capabilities, build plans, technology gaps, and process improvement opportunities
• Manage safe work practices and maintain safe work environment

In this role you will be collaborating with various stakeholders across the business including our Demand & Supply Planning function teams in Netherlands & other parts of the world.

Our Regional Hub supports a hybrid working approach. You will be supporting markets in multiple time zones and some flexibility around working hours will be needed.

You will be joining a newly formed Shared Services Centre team, with opportunities to grow, within Demand & Supply Planning or wider Global Supply Chain functions.

About You

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in Manufacturing, with a strong understanding Manufacturing improvements and Digital Transformation;
  • Direct and proven experiences in Manufacturing excellence, cost savings, and value creation, functional analysis, specifications improvements, collaborative business development

Language

• Good written and spoken English is essential
• A proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Korean and/or Thai as well as other Asian languages will be an added advantage, however not mandatory

Qualification / Education

Master Degree in Engineering / Bachelor’s Degree with experience
